VH Financial Recruitment is partnering with a prestigious global organisation within the Life Sciences sector to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant for a 6-month temporary assignment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing finance team where you’ll play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close and balance sheet management across multiple entities. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can make an immediate impact.

The Role

Reporting to senior finance leadership, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring key accounting processes are completed on time throughout the assignment.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of balance sheet integrity across multiple legal entities.
• Manage month-end close activities, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide meaningful financial analysis and support business decision-making.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• Support continuous process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Contribute to project work, process improvement initiatives and transition activities as required.
• Utilise ERP systems (Oracle experience advantageous) to manage financial data efficiently.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Financial Accountant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of delivering high-quality work from day one.

Essential Skills & Experience

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified/Part Qualified
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Financial Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R) or General Ledger accounting.
• Strong experience managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP.
• Experience working within a controlled, compliance-focused finance environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• ERP system experience (Oracle or a similar finance system).
