Accounts Receivable Associate
£30,000 | Manchester | Hybrid | 6-Month Temporary to Permanent
VH Financial Recruitment is partnering with an innovative and well-known organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Receivable professional to join its Manchester Shared Service Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, established finance function with responsibility for end-to-end Accounts Receivable, cash allocation, customer account reconciliations and query resolution.
Initially offered on a 6-month temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent, this role would suit someone with strong transactional finance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
THE ROLE
Working as part of the Accounts Receivable team, you will be responsible for ensuring customer receipts are accurately processed, allocated and reconciled while helping to maintain accurate AR ledgers and resolve outstanding account queries.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing and allocating customer payments accurately and efficiently
- High-volume cash allocation
- Reconciling customer accounts and Accounts Receivable ledgers
- Investigating unallocated and misallocated cash
- Resolving payment discrepancies and customer account queries
- Obtaining and processing remittance information
- Supporting the management of outstanding balances
- Working closely with Credit Control to resolve aged and outstanding items
- Raising and processing invoices and credit notes where required
- Performing bank and ledger reconciliations
- Supporting month-end Accounts Receivable processes
- Preparing journals and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded
- Maintaining accurate customer account information
- Liaising with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries
- Supporting continuous improvement across AR processes
- Working to agreed service levels and KPIs within the Shared Service Centre
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous Accounts Receivable / Sales Ledger experience
- Strong cash allocation experience
- Customer account and ledger reconciliations
- Experience investigating unallocated and misallocated cash
- Bank reconciliation experience
- Customer payment and remittance query resolution
- Credit Control / debt management exposure
- Understanding of Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes
- High-volume transactional finance experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confident working with large volumes of financial data
- Strong Excel and finance systems experience
- Shared Service Centre experience would be advantageous
