Accounts Payable / Accounts Assistant

📍 Cheadle | 💰 Up to £29,500 + Benefits | 📆 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

VHFR are proud to be partnering with a leading Life Science organisation based in Cheadle, seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Accounts Assistant to support their finance team for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid experience in accounts payable and month-end processes, looking to contribute to a fast-paced and impactful industry.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Match invoices to orders, deliveries, and/or approvals
  • Code invoices to the nominal ledger and project accounts
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliations
  • Generate weekly invoice payment reports
  • Process BACS payments
  • Verify and process staff expenses and company credit card usage

Accounts Assistant

  • Calculate and post prepayments, update summary schedules, and reconcile to the nominal ledger
  • Prepare and post trade accruals, ensuring ledger agreement
  • Process bi-weekly travel expense reimbursements
  • Support ad hoc financial reporting as needed

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the development and streamlining of finance processes
  • Support compliance and audit readiness through meticulous record-keeping

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in an accounts payable or accounts assistant role
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to meet multiple deadlines
  • A collaborative team player with initiative and self-motivation
